The Future of Bihar: Nitish Kumar Leadership in the Balance with NDA Victory
In a significant political statement ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan has firmly backed Nitish Kumar as the next Chief Minister if the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) returns to power. Dispelling all speculations about his personal ambitions, Paswan said he is “not eyeing the Deputy CM’s post” and fully supports the collective decision of the NDA.
Paswan, who played a crucial role in the NDA’s impressive performance in Bihar during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, stated, “There is no confusion or ambition from my side. Nitish Kumar will be the Chief Minister if the people of Bihar give us the mandate. I have said this earlier and I’m reiterating it now — I am not aiming for any post.”
The LJP (Ram Vilas) leader also emphasized unity within the NDA, stating that the alliance remains strong and focused on development. “Our goal is to keep Bihar on the path of growth and stability. Personal ambition cannot come in the way of collective responsibility,” he added.
